DESCRIPTION:Rhode Island’s ballet theatre (RIbt)\, a non-profit pre-professional training company for the region’s young ballet dancers\, ages 9-18\, will be holding open auditions at 7 pm on Thursday\, August 16th at RI Ballet Arts Academy\, 7728 Post Road (Post Road Plaza)\, North Kingstown\, RI. Audition fee is $20. \nRIbt welcomes talented dancers who have a passion for ballet through an audition process. At the audition each candidate’s technical ability\, artistry\, musicality\, stage presence and ability to quickly learn new choreography is evaluated. Dancers age 9 to 18 with classical ballet training are eligible to audition. \nThe company’s goal is to help promising young dancers reach their full potential through a pre-professional training program consisting of weekly company class\, a series of Master Classes\, regular evaluation & feedback\, learning experiences with leading professional ballet companies\, and ongoing performance opportunities to enhance a dancer’s stage presence. Dancers continue to train with their home studios while focusing on stage performance training\, learning choreography\, performance rehearsals and other opportunities with RIbt. \nAdmission to be a member of RIbt is through audition only.
